EDU276 STEM Positive Expectations

I think I usually have positive expectations for myself and those around me. This is because if you don't expect something to work, why are you trying it in the first place!

For students, they must have the expectation that they can succeed and that you believe in their abilities.  I saw this when I took my Girl Scout troop on a complicated service project to a park to do a litter clean up and community mapping project. They needed to learn how to use a map and a digital camera in advance of the project. With two lessons and several parent helpers on the day of the event they were all successful and had a great time. I knew they could do it and they had a great time.
